Amy L. Sopchak received the degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence cum laude from South Texas College of Law in 2008. Ms. Sopchak is inducted into the Order of the Lytæ for outstanding academic achievement, and appeared many times on the Dean’s Honor List for academic merit. Amy received the Lyndon B. Johnson Civil Rights Award in 2008 for outstanding work advancing the civil rights of individuals.

Amy received the degree of Bachelor of Science summa cum laude from the University of Houston in 2004 where she studied psychology. Amy is a member of the Psi Chi international honor society in psychology and a member of the Alpha Chi national college honor society.

Ms. Sopchak serves as a community member on the Methodist Hospital Institutional Review Board, which reviews, monitors and approves human subject medical research conducted at the Hospital.

Amy concentrates her practice in health law and estate planning, including special needs trusts and Miller trusts. She also represents claimants in Social Security matters, employee benefit matters – including long term disability benefit claims – and other matters related to access to health care.
